What We Learned at the 2025 Family Business Conference
We had the absolute privilege of speaking on a panel at the 2025 Family Business Association (AU) Conference last week. It was a real highlight for us both as a family and as a business.
Following our recognition with the NSW Established Family Business Award in 2024, we were invited to contribute to a panel discussion titled “Aligning Family Interests and Business Structure for Generational Success.” This topic resonates deeply with our journey at Ranger, as we've navigated the complexities of family dynamics within a business context.
Our own Steve Thacker, Ashley Thacker, and Tim Van Dyke shared insights from our experiences, covering areas such as leadership transitions, maintaining family alignment, and establishing structures that support long-term growth.
The session was expertly moderated by Angus Kennard, Chair of Family Business Australia and our Non-Executive Director at Ranger. Angus's profound understanding of family businesses and his connection to our story added depth and relevance to the conversation.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Family Business Australia for the opportunity to engage with a community of business owners who are planning for the future with a generational perspective.
For a closer look at our discussion, please watch the video below:
At Ranger, we believe that the strength of a family business lies in its ability to adapt, align, and plan for the future. Sharing our experiences and learning from others reinforces our commitment to these principles.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
